Karlstad University – The faculty of health, science and technology
The faculty has roughly 400 employees and doctoral students, who train and meet around 7,000 students. The faculty's activities are organized in five departments for education and research as well as a joint administrative and technical department. The faculty is responsible for all engineering educations and nursing educations as well as other educations in, among other things, natural sciences and public health sciences.
The research is conducted both in traditional academic subjects and in several multidisciplinary research environments. Many projects focus on the transformation of the current economical/technological culture based on the consumption of non-renewable resources into a bioeconomy based on the circularity of environmentally friendly and renewable resources. At the faculty there are several prominent research centers and research groups.
