Companies Discussed Status and Needs in Sustainability Work
What does sustainable business development mean and what kind of support do companies want? These were the focal questions when member companies of Glava Energy Center participated in a workshop within the EU project ARIES4, which aims to support sustainability efforts in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Värmland region.

Record interest in energy conference
There is a rallying in Värmland around the energy transition. This is how the great interest and commitment to the Energy Conference 2024 at Glava Energy Center can be interpreted. Among the 130 registered participants were politicians, officials, urban planners, energy specialists, energy researchers, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, and investors.

New board member reflects the breadth of the energy issue
Research advisor Erica Åkerberg from the Grants and Innovations Office at Karlstad University is the new board member of Glava Energy Center. She takes over from university colleague and professor of material physics Lars Johansson, who was bid farewell at Monday's association meeting.

Innovative ground installation in the north receives the Solar Energy Prize
Sunna Group's pilot installation Lilla Norrskenet wins the Solar Energy Prize 2024 for this year's ground installation. Sunna, which is one of Glava Energy Center's member companies, aims to demonstrate and maximize the potential of solar energy even in the north with this installation.

"Good communication contributes to the energy transition"
Glava Energy Center welcomes Albin Norén as a communicator for the LOKEN project, Local Energy Management Värmland. He is fundamentally a journalist and most recently comes from Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan where he worked as a development manager and produced the podcast Bygdefolk – about opportunities and challenges of living in rural Värmland.

Experienced project manager sees great innovative potential in LOKEN
Glava Energy Center welcomes Eva Lingwall as project and process manager for LOKEN, Local Energy Management Värmland. She comes most recently from Region Värmland where she has worked in regional development focusing on energy, environment, and sustainability issues.

Innovation and business potential promoted at Elmia Solar
Glava Energy Center and Business Region Värmland will participate as exhibitors at the premiere in February of Elmia Solar, the new Nordic meeting place for the solar energy industry. The purpose is to meet industry players and disseminate knowledge about Värmland's unique potential for innovations, skills development, and business establishments within solar energy and smart, sustainable energy systems.

Future collaborations for the development of innovations were the focus of attention when representatives from Fortum's Wind and Solar Business area Technology and Innovation team visited Glava Energy Center.

Värmland's electricity grid could become a model for the entire Sweden
Over the next year, Glava Energy Center will explore the potential for flexible use and production of electricity within Värmland's power grid. The project is funded by the research entity Energiforsk, aiming for its outcomes to establish a model applicable to all of Sweden's electricity grid owners

Värmland sparks major energy project across municipalities and corporations
Glava Energy Center and Karlstad University have secured funding for their joint project LOKEN – Local Energy Management Värmland. Over three years, the project aims to support the energy transition in Värmland's municipalities, test smart energy solutions, and establish a new regional platform for collaboration among academia, businesses, and public entities. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Region Värmland.

CheckWatts partners are trained in smart energy solutions
On behalf of CheckWatt, Glava Energy Center is training prospective partners for the energy service company. The course centers around CheckWatt's services in smart and flexible energy utilization, preparing participants to become partners responsible for installation, service, maintenance, and customer support.
