MSB Maps Fire Risks for Solar Panels
Swedish rescue services need to improve their ability to handle fires in buildings with solar panels. On September 4-5, a reference group from MSB (Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency) was on-site at Glava Energy Center to conduct a large number of rescue scenarios. These tests will serve as the foundation for a new national guide for Sweden’s rescue services.
Knowledge of Inspections Competitive Edge in the Solar Industry
The slowdown in the number of installed solar power systems is creating tougher times in the solar energy industry. This gives companies all the more reason to invest in knowledge about quality and safety, according to Per Hederstedt, course leader at Glava Energy Center. In February 2025, the second edition of the Elmia Solar industry fair will take place. Glava Energy Center is joining as a fair partner with the mission to contribute to a knowledge-intensive stage program.
Great interest in course in inspection of solar cells
There is a lot of interest in Glava Energy Center's newly started course Inspection of solar cell installations. The crowded premiere round in mid-October was attended by inspectors, supervisors and project managers as well as solar cell and electrical installers from both Sweden and Norway. A new round of courses is now being arranged on 24-25 January 2024.
African change agents were trained in Glava
Engineer Jilian Ouko from the electricity grid company Kenya Power was one of 30 change agents from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia who participated in a full-day training at the Glava Energy Center in October. The training is part of LIFE Academy's international and SIDA-funded training program in renewable energy, which will promote change work for sustainable development in African countries.
Norwegian interest in solar installer training in Glava
The ongoing solar energy boom in Norway is shown by a great Norwegian interest in the Glava Energy Center's basic training for solar cell installers. It was full at the year's first training round in Glava in January and most of the registered participants came from Norwegian electrical installation companies.
