CIRIS – Interregional Circularity in Central Scandinavia

The three-year project CIRIS (Interregional Circularity in Central Scandinavia) aims to enhance research and innovation capacity in Värmland and Innlandet by developing circular industrial value chains. Glava Energy Center is the project owner and leads the initiative together with Swedish partners Karlstad University, Arvika Näringslivscentrum, and the Norwegian project owner Vaager Innovasjon AS.

DIET – Measuring a Sustainable Energy Transition

Are we measuring what really matters for a sustainable energy transition to happen? The DIET project brings together researchers, civil servants, strategists, and policymakers in Värmland to explore exactly this. The goal is to gradually build a shared understanding of which indicators are needed to capture social, environmental, and economic dimensions—while also promoting social innovations that benefit people.

Feasibility Study: Science Center

Fewer and fewer young people are choosing to study science and technology—a worrying trend at a time when skills in these fields are crucial for achieving the green transition. With support from Region Värmland, this feasibility study explores how a dedicated space—a Science Center—could be created to allow children and young people in western Värmland to explore energy, technology, and sustainability in an inclusive and inspiring environment.

GränsEnergi – Innovative Solutions for the Future of Energy Supply

The three-year project GränsEnergi aims to develop local energy communities for residential and industrial areas in the border region of Värmland, Dalarna, Innlandet, and Akershus. Glava Energy Center is the project owner and leads the initiative together with Swedish partners Karlstad University and Dalarna Science Park, and Klosser Innovasjon is the Norwegian project leader in collaboration with Fornybar Utvikling.

Innovite – An Innovation Cluster for Sector Coupling

Innovite aims to establish a sector-coupled innovation cluster to accelerate the energy transition. By connecting actors from electricity, heating, industry, real estate and digitalisation, the project strengthens the potential to develop joint solutions to some of today’s most urgent energy system challenges – such as capacity shortages, variable electricity supply and increasing demands for robustness. Innovite is our invitation to everyone who wants to contribute to innovation for a sustainable energy transition. The project is funded by the Swedish Energy Agency.

Local Energy Management Värmland

The three-year project "Local Energy Management Värmland" (LOKEN) aims to support the energy transition in municipalities across Värmland, test smart energy solutions, and create a new regional collaboration platform for academia, industry, and public sector stakeholders. Glava Energy Center is leading the project in partnership with Karlstad University. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and Region Värmland.

RedigitiZE – Exploring Digital Pathways to Industrial Electrification

RedigitiZE is a feasibility study that explores how digital technologies can help industry grow and use electricity more efficiently – without being limited by the current grid capacity constraints. The focus is on understanding the system, analysing needs, and identifying pathways toward a more flexible and electrified industrial sector.
